Hire a Mover or DIY?
Many families will move this year and one of the biggest decisions to be made is to hire professional movers or do it yourself. Here at In Towne Self Storage we help people with moving logistics everyday and we are happy to share our thoughts, observations, and suggestions with you!
Hiring Movers
- Professional movers are amazing. We work with several local moving companies that have a high standard of professionalism and are well equipped to handle your move from pack to un-pack across town or across the country. Ask us for a referral!
Does your move include storage?
- Many times, storage for a period is part of the relocation process. Some professional movers will store your items and deliver to your new address when directed by you. Often this service is priced at a premium and you may not have access to your property during storage, but this can be a very convenient option, especially if your storage is short-term. More often, folks will direct their movers to deliver to a climate-controlled storage facility. Convenient month to month leases, reasonably priced are available. Plus, you will have access to everything in storage.
Considering DIYing your move?
-
- For many people this is a good option and certainly the most economical. In Towne Self Storage is an authorized U-Haul dealership with a wide variety of equipment. You will want to plan your move date well in advance and call to reserve a moving truck or trailer. We can assist you with a reservation for a local move or a cross-county move. If you have the option, try to stay away from the first and last weekends of any given month as this is when the demand for equipment is high. Enlist friends and family to help on moving day or ask us about moving help. Stop by our office 4-6 weeks in advance to purchase your moving supplies; we have a wide variety to boxes, wrap, and tape.
